Criteria for Entry into Consultant Pool
 

Project Manager:

  • Current JJTA membership (required for all Pool members);
  • Has been on at least one JJTA project team or worked with a board member on another project team; OR
  • Project management experience in a similar project - submit project report summary

Trainer/Presenter/Facilitator:

  • Current JJTA membership (required for all Pool members);
  • Completion of a recognized 40-hour Training of Trainers course, based on adult learning principles and covering presentation skills, classroom participation techniques, group facilitation, etc. (e.g., NIC Foundation Skills, JJTA or NJDA Training for Trainers); AND
  • Three years of full time training or facilitation experience, or five years part time or field instructor experience; AND
  • Submission of a satisfactory sample of work (e.g., workshop presentation observed by JJTA-approved observer, or a videotape of a presentation that includes group participation).

Curriculum Developer:

  • Current JJTA membership (required for all Pool members);
  • Completion of a recognized Training Design course, based on learner-centered instruction for adult learners, and covering performance-based objectives, using a variety of participatory learning experiences, development of workbooks and supporting materials, etc. (e.g., NIC Training Design and Development, JJTA or NJDA Training for Trainers); AND
  • Submission of a candidate-authored learner-centered training design that includes participant materials and other supporting materials.

Consultant / Technical Assistance Provider / Content Expert:

  • Current JJTA membership (required for all Pool members);
  • For Consultants/TA Providers: Submission of a copy of an executive summary report including the outcomes of the technical assistance or consultation project [site identification removed].
  • For Content Experts: A research paper, journal article or similar document demonstrating knowledge of a body of research or specific content area along with the practical application of this information to the field of Juvenile Justice, or documentation of work experience/expertise in a particular content area.
